The mission of Valley Youth House is to provide prevention and intervention services, counseling, life skills and behavioral health services to abused, neglected, and homeless youth and their families. Their programs foster positive growth enabling at-risk youth and their families to become healthy, productive, responsible members of the community.
Valley Youth House serves more than 10,000 children and families each year, many of whom lack the material basics of life. More than 200 kids sleep under their roofs each night. VYH has four group homes and well over 100 apartments. Caring for that many adolescents requires a lot of stuff!
During the month of February Allied will be collecting the following items for our Health and Beauty Drive:
Toothpaste/brushes
Deodorant
Shampoo and conditioner
Body lotions and sprays
Mouthwash
Combs and brushes
“Shower caddie” kits
Hair dryers and curling irons
Soap
*Hotel/travel sized items welcomed
In the words of Roger, the volunteer coordinator at VYH, “Our kids want to look nice and practice good hygiene. Providing the 'little extras' is appreciated!”
If you'd like to make a donation you can drop off items at our Allentown or Easton offices anytime during business hours throughout the month of February.
